I teach music at an elementary school, K-5. I routinely serenade the kids with wayward clawhammer songs as they come into the school. I like practicing but I have slippery fingers, too many slips to commit to recordings yet. I like the African in clawhammer and wonder what syncopation and crossrhythms can do to this already lovely style.
