Born into a world of Bluegrass Music by Father William H. Smith, Sr. and Uncle Dick Smith Known as the Smith Brother's. They started during the late 40's. I didn't take up any interest until the age of 14 around the year 1978. Started to play Guitar then in March 12, 1980 living in Southern California Father sugested trying the Banjo and from there just loved it and within 6 months played on stage at the Riverside College Music Festival with the Lattus Brother and the High Desert Bluegrass Boys. Larry and John Lattus were identical twins both played bluegrass guitar, Father Bill Smith on Mandolin, younger brother played upright Bass and I played the banjo. We did a lot of Jim and Jesse songs with a mix of Don Reno intrumentals. Cut two records with this band. Also played in bands such as Jim Colman and the Smith Brothers, Bob Neil and the Smith Brothers and Charlie Clark and the Smith Brothers. Played all over the southern area of California. (will finish at a later date!)
