Pathologist by training, I picked up the banjo more than 20 years ago but played it very little, if any, for nearly 15 years. Five years ago, I made a commitment to really learn how to play, and vowed to practice at least an hour or two per day. Along the way I've met some wonderful musicians in local jams and have a few professional musician friends who help with moral support when I falter. I'm having a blast learning to play this wonderful instrument and revel in my outlet for creativity and musical expression. Someday, I'd like to play in a local BG band for the pure joy of it.
