During his childhood it was agreed that Mark McCluney was too clever by half, but time has reduced this to about one sixteenth. In his twenties and early thirties he performed as one third of the gospel comedy duo The Mad Actsmen. He held held down a day job (by sitting on it's chest) while playing guitar and harmonica for various blues and rock bands. His best regular gig was accompanying a millionaire bar-owner who liked to sing Leonard Cohen songs to his customers. Curiously this job did not last long. Since those days he has been a research physicist, comedy science performer, theatrical prop-builder and guy-in-the-hardware-store. He is a committed Christian but dislikes religion and loves his wife Kathy dearly. He can't really play anything properly because he is too lazy to practice. All-in-all he is a bit of a smart-alec.
