In 1973 I dropped out of college, went to Oregon Wisconsin and made Richelieu Banjos for the next 4 years. This is remembered by me as one of the best times of my life. While there, I would take photographs of the banjos we made and the restored premier banjos that C.C. Richelieu had collected. My interest in photography grew rapidly and I began a new career in photojournalism. For 44 years I have loved every day of my job. I have been around North America on various assignments and have seen many wonderful things, as well as very heartfelt gut wrenching catastrophes. Not a day goes by however that I don't think about my days in Wisconsin and all the wonderful times I had with my friends, making and playing banjos.
