Three Generations is a bluegrass band comprised of three generations of family members and a few great friends. It was started as a musical outlet for a young talented fiddler, Nick Dumas, and has grown to be one of the most sought-after Northwest groups. The band is comprised of 18-year-old Nick Dumas who plays a mean bluegrass fiddle, mandolin, flat pickin' guitar, and sings; Nick’s grandpa, Harold Christensen, who plays the dobro guitar and has been a musician all his life; his mom, Tammy Dumas, who takes the roll as lead vocal and plays the mandolin; his aunt, Val Ranz, who also sings and plays mandolin; thus the name “Three Generations”!

The band would not be complete without adding a few dynamic friends. Chrisann Gray has been a family friend for many years. She plays the rhythm guitar, among many other instruments, including the fiddle. Her 18 -year-old son, Derek Gray is an incredible natural talent on the stand-up bass. He has been playing the bass for three years without a lesson. Now we have a new addition to tha band! His name is Austin McGregor and is 17-years-old! He has been playing the banjo for a VERY short time and is self taught. He is quite impressive, and we are happy to have him part of our "family"!
The Three Generations started with only three family members, but in a short time, it has grown into an amazing collage of talent, which creates a unique and exciting form of bluegrass music.
