In my years as a guitar player, I have had many great nights sitting around a campfire with my instrument, entertaining and accompanying my friends. This past weekend, however, was the first time I was able to do this with my banjo.
I traveled down to Jekyll Island (my favorite place) and saw some friends I haven't seen in a while, and a few I see regularly, and we spent Friday night picking some of our favorite tunes. I cannot yet play my banjo as well as I would like, and it was tempting at times to pick up the guitar and do something I know how to do for a change, but I stuck with the five-string.
I look forward to much more of this in the future.
