Took a couple of banjo classes at a local community college between 1975 and 1980, and struggled on my own for a couple years or so, then didn't pick it up for some time. About 25 years later I retired and decided to start my banjo pickin' again. After a couple years I saw an ad for NashCamp banjo weekend. I signed up and learned more in that weekend than I ever had before. It was great working with Sonny Osborne, Tony Trischka, Bill Evans and Ned Luberecki. I planned on attending the following year but was recovering from a broken shoulder about that time and was unable to attend. I did manage to get back the following year for another session. I have a small group that plays in church at times (guitar, banjo, dulcimer and a couple of singers). We're not all that good and have only played in church, but we have fun rehearsing a couple times a month just to stay ready - after all having fun is the primary objective. Sombody referred to us as Soggy Bottom Boys from the movie "Oh Brother...", but I said that could be copyright trouble, so we became the Foggy Bottom Boys. One smart aleck in the church suggested "Saggy Belly Boys" . While it probably more appropriately matched our looks, we still rejected it!
