Monday, February 2, 2009

Changed the strings to a nice and heavy .12 .14 .22w .24w .12 Stainless Hartford 1950 D tuning set (dADF#A), put in a "toilet" shim to pitch the neck right and proper and, MAN!  This banjo sounds tremendous and plays even better than before...

Just stoked and wanted to share.   WOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Hope everyone is well.

Been playing Bass since 1980. Guitar 1984. Drums 1985. Dabbling with the Keys since 1989. Looking to put more time in on the banjo! I have been playing for a total of 28+ years, self taught on all the above, played in a bunch of B'klyn bands, was a big part of the NY Thrash/HC scene, toured/played with Slayer, the Bad Brains, Sacred Reich, Clutch, et cetera. So, I guess I'm not your typical BHO kind of guy, but I love all kinds of music...especially when it's genuine and comes straight from the heart. The way I see it, almost all music is the blues to an extent...I just happen to be on the more aggressive side of it! Did lots of studio work as a hired gun, can play in ANY musical setting and make it work. AND I can program a Drum Machine like NO BODY'S BUSINESS! I even once fooled Will Lee (Letterman's bassist) into thinking the drums were real and the bass was fake when it was entirely the other way around! I love to experiment and push boundaries.
