Tuning The Head

For those who have trouble hearing the note created by thumping the head, remove the resonator and attach your electronic tuner to the rim and then strike a note.  My Snark tuner gives me a clear reading on this.  I was suprised  to learn I had tuned it clear up to B.  Banjo sounds good there though.
