So, another blog to keep track of. But this looks like fun, and maybe I'll learn something along the way.
Picked up a banjo last night. A vintage Silvertone. I had an Ecko banjo years ago, but didn't have the discipline to take the time to learn how to play it. Now that I've been playing guitar and bass for a few years, its time to start on the banjo.
If anybody knows how to date the old Silvertones, pass the info along. I know generally about them, so this one is at least 36 years old. From the looks of it, I would say sometime in the 50s or 60s. But what do I know? It will be fun to learn on.
So here I can document my banjo adventures. I'm looking forward to the experience.

I play bagpipes for the Baltimore City Pipe Band, and fingerstyle guitar for my own enjoyment. I've always wanted to learn to play banjo, now is the time to start.
