I was born way down south where the stars come out at night. Raised on a humble tenant farm nestled in the fragrant furtile Mississippi delta. Many was the time I've walked fresh furrowed ground in bare feet. You can probably picture me as I took my great toe and used it to make wee tiny holes to plant corn. Maybe you can't. I can. That's all that's important right now. Later as a strapping young reb, I ventured to the bright light's of the city. I traveled to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. I even waded no more than belly button deep in some of the finest trout waters in Arkansas. Finally the fun played out and I married into a well established delta family and sank deep roots again into the magical Mississippi delta. I've raised two healthy children. Lived long enough to see them grow to be just as bull-headed and full of mischief as the old man. No grandkids yet. Now my hair is gray. Fine lines mark the passage of time around my sparkling rebel peepers. On cold mornings I snap and pop like independence day. On a good day, I can still clear a five strand fence in a single bound. On a bad day, the neighbor might be called upon to get me down. All in all, I guess I'm pretty doggone content. Happy as a kitten on a warm brick, you might say.
