Hi Banjo fan's! I've just recently begun teaching myself the 5 string Tenor Banjo through tab sites here in "Banjo Hangout" & any other online sites that can help! I'm a 36 yr old Irish lad with a very limited knowledge of Banjo related music primarily due to my interest in R'n'R & Blues,60's Rock & psychedelic (Led Zeppelin,Pink Floyd) etc I'm a big fan of Scruggs & Flatt-"Dueling Banjo's,Cripple Creek" and anything else along that line of cool Southern "Dixie" style picking! (I hope I've described this style correct?)
Although I'm a big fan of Bluegrass my LP,CD collection only has two Cd's of this genre! "Hooked on Bluegrass" & "Appalachian Mountain music" which unfortunately I've misplaced! Yes,i know...total disaster!!
Well, long story short,I'm struggling to keep my lessons interesting as I'm short on really ass kicking tunes to tackle! As a self taught guitarist of 16+ years( I'm a Lefty folk's! ) which I've conquered with much success ability wise i feel confident i can master the Tenor Banjo in much the same way! I just need help from anyone out there that might be able to recommend tunes, instrumentals, artistes or Cd's that you may feel might suit me from the info I've included here! As little as it may be?
Please,if there's anyone reading this that would be willing to share their musical knowledge, taste I'd be very grateful?
Sincerely,
Darren.

Came through a bad drug addicton that wasted half my youth but I'm very lucky that i have still my parents support & the love of a good woman to get me through the dark days! Clean nearly 10 years. Also my love of playing, listening & learning new music is a passion that we musicians are blessed with.
