Learned old time banjo from John Grimm of 'The Georgia Potlickers' in Dahlonega, GA. He's mainly a fiddle player (amazing) - wish I could reconnect with him and jam till the dawn. Little did I know how that first lesson would start something so.....wonderful. Didn't even know what old time music was when I took my dusty banjo into his shop for my first "out of boredom" lessons while I was visiting there over the summer. Most of my influences are seen in my favorite artists. Most tunes I know are in the Round Peak tradition. I jam with a few other old-timers in Houston - most notably Rachel the washtub player.
