Live by the motto 'greater love has no man than to practice that for which there is no hope of getting very good.' I LOVE playing the banjo and do it ALOT. But, alas, still not that good....sure, I impress ignorant yankees, westerners and small children but not real musicians. I'm better at clawhammer but still struggle with a clean drop thumb technique. Fairly fast 3 finger picker but cleaness still a problem. I know fragments of many,many songs but play few complete tunes...relatively speaking. I need to play with other people more, if I did there may be some chance of me getting better. I'll bet I just defined 80% of all banjo players world wide. PICK ON. One of the funnest things you'll ever do.
