Started picking banjo in 1973 back on Long Island, N.Y. until 1979 when I moved to Boca Raton, Florida. Found some really good folks to play with and started a group and named it Groundspeed in 1995 or so and its been fun and good pickin since then. The group Groundspeed has played at some of the most fun venues around and is (so I am told) on display at the Smithsonian in D.C. for our performance at Florida International University in 2001. To this day the fun playing continues. I teach a solid Scruggs Style picking in Palm Beach County the way it is supposed to be taught. I moved up to Saint Cloud 3 years ago about 8 years after losing my wife Toby of 25 years, needed to start a new life, I was getting stale in Boca Raton. Started a new group up here called Groundspeed as well and so far we are pickin all over and having a lot of fun doing it. I just can't seem to find a steady upright bass player, tough call I spose.
