Monday, March 3, 2008

Would some oe out there in Virtual Bluegrass Land, explain to a Banjo player what use it is a BLOG. Is it something like a LICK or ENDING and where can I get the tab for fitting blogs into my playing??? Who invented the BLOG and how fast do you play when in a BLOG SESSION. Is the there anything else in the world that matters as much as a good five string banjo. I've got one of the best, a Stelling, and I don't think so?? so endeth this BLOG LESSON. Howard 5 comments

As a self taught banjo closet picker, I have developed a unique style which accomplished players find somewhat difficult to comment on. Mostly using an index lead and "Stanley Style" forward roll, I seem to be able to get my fingers around most tunes. Jack Hatfield invented the term, "hiccup timing" especially for my playing but I have improved since then. Butch Robins mentioned "challenges in jam sessions", otherwise I enjoy loud noise and the Stelling provides heaps of that? I have been known to clear the room of mandolin players in record time but experience has allowed me to resist this urge.?? My web page is currently in the repair shop getting restrung?? I am probably in need of similar treatment myself ?? Somehow I jest keeps pikkin' and a ginnin' jest like Uncle Jed.??
