I started taking Banjo lessons a few years ago, but life, kids and work got in the way. I've recently picked it up again and it's like starting all over. As a child, I can remember going with Dad to the Fiddler's Conventions on Beattie's Hill. The banjo was the one instrument we both thoroughly enjoyed. Dad tried to take lessons, but couldn't get the left to keep up with the right. He said he was too old. Now at 40 years old, I hope I'm not too old. I lost my Dad nine years ago, so I do this in remembrence of him.
