I mostly play guitar but I like to play around with the banjo from time to time. I like most every style of banjo playing. I've had a 5 string banjo for several years but I have been unable to master the 3 finger roll probably because of muscle damage in my right hand. The clawhammer style won't work for me neither. I love both the Bluegrass and clawhammer styles but I had to find something that worked for me. In the summer of 2007 I bought a 6 string banjo also called a banjitar and fell in love with it. It's tuned just like a guitar but I like to tune down the bottom string to D to give it a more banjo sound. I use a heavy gauge triangle flatpick to get a louder tone and it also helps my grip.
