Hey all, I just purchased one of Mike's Banjo mutes and wanted to let y'all know it is probably the best mute I have seen. I have old Elton mutes, the Tyler Mountain "claw" mute, and GoldTone's mutes (both the Ultimate Mute and the Iucci mute) Although each of these are good in their own way, Mike's banjo mute is adaptable for both standard bridges and compensated ones. None of these others will fit a bridge with any curvature in it. And the sound is heavenly! It does not have a metallic undertone. The harmonics of my Gibson ring beautifully. I figure it has saved me a divorce lawyer's fees, so it's worth the price. I can now practice and my wife and dog won't leave the room after the first roll. It's easy to use and I would recommend it highly. It's kinda expensive ($35), but it serves a unique function especially for any of you that prefer a compensated bridge.
