I've been playing for a long time, nearly 40 years. I have never stopped or lost interest. Learning the banjo was the best thing I ever did. My original influence was Pete Seeger, then Earl, for a long time. I learned a lot from the Scruggs book when I was a teenager. Then I got smitten with Trischka's brilliant material, and also I was influenced lots by Alan Munde. I still try to emulate him. I'm the guy who you hear playing the banjo on the Coen Brothers movie "Raising Arizona" My other recordings: The Simpsons(Season 18, episode 22 " You Kent Always Say What You Want"), TV commercials, The Waverly Consort, PBS soundtrack, and off-Broadway.
