Started playing bluegrass at 16 years age, took classes in Bluegrass guitar and Ragtime fingerpicking. never got arround to join any bluegrassbands though... love the music but preffer a wider range of influences. 97 i joined a lokal countrypunkband as bassplayer, right in time to learn the tunes before recording them in studio, we allso made a video for it and became the first Swedish band played on CMT, but;- CMT refused to pay royaltys and wouldnt give us access to all the letters sent in from arround the world, band collapsed and thats the last thing i ever heard of it ;) Playing with some different bands, Irish, Swedish, American... worked for a year in a studio writing and recording songs, 2001-2006 i started the band "Roundhouse Stringband" together with friends from the oldtimemusic sceene of Sweden and Denmark, played some festivals in Scandinavia and made a trip to Clifftop festival West Virginia ended up nr 65(?) in the bandcontest, damn americans are hard competition ;) The past 5 years ive been working on my own idea of a banjo, made with influences from African (Gambian) and Caribbean banjorelatives, mixed up with some of my own ideas to mix everything together and make a playable instrument (old prototype on the pic). For the experiment stage i chose the ukulele as object, mainly because of its size and simplicity, 4 strings and fits on an A4 paper ;) Later on i will start working on the 5 string version, i would believe it will interest the clawhammer folks rather than the 3fingerdudes :)
