I've grown up in the northern va area. Just recently retired in 2017 and moved to Chandler AZ to enjoy the warmer winters and other things Arizona has to offer. I've been playing the guitar off and on since I was 15. I played some banjo way back then but have forgotten all that. Just recently I decided I wanted to learn to play the banjo so I bought a nice gold star gf-85 and signed up for banjo lessons and haven't been able to put the banjo down since. I've also been getting into playing bluegrass guitar. This bluegrass music is basically something new to me, I just caught on to it when I was 50 but before that I was only really into blues and rock.
