About Lazy John: LAZY JOHN (formerly the Cedar Valley Boys) Energetic, foot stomping, authentic, and fun are all words that describe the music of 'Lazy John'. With an ecclectic mix of tunes ranging from Appalachian Stringband music to the more familiar Bluegrass and Country favourites, the boys blend these traditional style to create their own unique sound. Lazy John consists of: Shane Crumb-mandolin, vocals Luke Mercier-fiddle, vocals Matt Ray-banjo, vocals Derrick Tompkins-guitar,vocals and Tim Hadley-string bass, vocals. If you appreciate a good time and dancing all night you'll love these guys! A great band playing infectious music. Lazy John hail from rural Hastings County in Ontario Canada. About me:I have been exposed to the banjo my whole life and some of my first memories are of my Grandfather sitting on the porch picking (the way it should be I suppose). I started playing 3 finger but have all but lost my touch for that. I mess around playing clawhammer style these days.
