I started playing banjo after hearing a Pete Seeger concert. I started with up-picking, moved to bluegrass (briefly), and then to clawhammer. When I retired a few years ago, I started to seriously learn the "old time" repertoir. I play with a local string band, The Pleasant Family. ("We're not family and we're not always pleasant").
