Banjo Identification?

First of all thank you in advance for helping me shed my ignorance as I am new to the world of banjo pickin'. 

I stumbled upon this banjo at an unlikely place and bought it for next to nothing.  I would like to find out the maker and approximate year of production, but have no experience in this area.  Can anyone help me?  There are pics located in my photo album.
