The Old Spinning Wheel

Tuesday, February 6, 2007

I once took banjo lessons over 20 years ago from an old friend who tried to teach me to play the 5 string.  With small kids I never took time to learn. Now with the kids all grown I now have time to devote to learning. My friend played a song that I always wanted to learn.  Over the years I lost touch with this friend and I recently found out he died in a boating accident.  He played the song BEAUTIFULLY!  But I cannot remember the chords and picking for the song.  It's called "The Old Spinning Wheel"  I would like to find the tablature to it or a banjo recording if possible. But I have not been very lucky. Can anyone out there help me out?

Thanks Mike

Just starting out after a 20 year absence. I now have the time to devote to learning the 5 string and I want to play on the porch of our new North Carolina mountain home. Hope to hear from some other Western Carolina pickers so I can learn more.
