Stay at home Army mom. Got four rug rats Katie-9, Holden-6, Kelsey-4, and Hayley Sue-3. Husband, Jason, is in the Army so we have moved around a lot. We just landed in Virginia and found a country home in Amelia where they have bluegrass festivals. My husband's family is from Kentucky and his Grandpop played the banjo. He plays the Guitar and I've been playing the violin for 15 years. He brought home a mandolin and a banjo the other day and I'm hooked! The mandolin and I are getting along great, but the banjo and I are wrasseling. I have the Earl Scruggs and the 5-string banjo revised and enhanced edition with instruction cd. I've spent a week and can barely play Cripple Creek. My oldest daughter wants to learn the banjo so we are looking into lessons. I'm looking for advice on what to listen to and how to pick a good teacher.
