I am the leader of Kattywompus String Band based in Monrovia, CA. We play banjo, banjo-mer, hammered and fretted dulcimers, fiddle, guitar and lots more. Our band was named after our music style....Kattywompus (slightly off-kilter). Traditional music from America, Europe and the Middle East is our specialty (is that 'Kattywompus' enough?!). We produce the Monrovia Traditional Music Gathering in Old Town Monrovia each spring and summer, a small cozy & community-friendly event featuring the traditional music of So. Calif.'s local musicians. Admission is free, there are vendors and free music lessons to the public - our way of introducing folks to great music that they don't get a chance to hear on the radio these days.
