A long way from Home

I live a long way from home, but I can bring just a little of it with me with my banjo. I am in my second year of peace corps service, and I can honestly say that if I hadn't brought my banjo along I don't know if I would have made it this far. It helps me relieve stress, express emotions and vent frustrations. Things that are hard to do when you can barely speak the native language, and you don't have any access to music execpt that which you can make.

I can say I am not much of a banjo player, but I wouldn't be much of anything if I wasn't.

I started playing my banjo in 2005. It was a promise I made to myself in Highschool, but didn't accomplish until after I graduated college. The more that I learn, the more I find that I need to learn.
