When I was about 9 years old I heard Foggy Mtn Breakdown played by Earl Scruggs on the radio. That's when I fell in love with the banjo. I finally started learning to play the banjo around age 16 and played regularly with some great friends and pickers for about 5 or 6 years. I pretty much quit playing when I started college. After college came a job, marriage, children, etc. Time has a way of getting away from you. In August of 2006 I started back playing after about 25 years and I am having a blast with it. There is so much more out there for banjo pickers. Many more fine banjos being made, software to help, and of course the hangout and all of it's wonderful members.
