others, but that's mostly up to date
I 'have' a good german fiddle, a Sandner, 1995, and a PRS Vela, and a Seagull parlor (guitars), a Dusty Strings 26 string harp, a Hemen Sarod(like playing a mac truck so I don't pick it up much), a Deering Goodtime parlor, that I make do double duty as a tenor and a 5 string, though I've got my eyes on a full size 5 string. Have had several tenors and 5 strings in the past, but the stable is emptier these days,,,
Favorite Bands/Musicians:
anyone who plays the old canon well is fine with me, as is anyone who is good with their own stuff,,,whatever catches my fancy,,,

Been playing tenor banjo since 1992 when I started to learn fiddle,,,and got hooked on it, too. Have had 5 thus far, and am looking to get another. Have played fiddle in a folklore troupe, and that took me to France twice, and once to Canada, and also to KY and FL and all over Louisiana, as well. I'm older now, and just play at home. I play a fair bit. Long time player of guitar(54 years at this juncture, mostly electric lead), and piano and cornet before that. Been with music since age 8 or 9 (forget) Read well, and source a good deal of tunes that way, as well as by listening. started out with a Weymann, and then about 1994, got a Gibson TB1, which I to this day bewail unloading,,,then a Vegaphone Professional, followed by a Deering Deluxe(weighed a ton!), and also a Vega Style M, which I converted to a 5 string. The tenor neck was perilously short, and hard to tune with the friction tuners. I sold the banjo, and the neck,,,not cuz I wanted to, but because I was in, financial straits, shall we say,,,and now I'm working on getting an humble GoodTime 17 fret. Hopefully soon, cuz playing my guitar tuned like one is not so fulfilling,,,string separation, and too long in the scale,,,etc. I'm quite used to knocking out Irish Music on one, though. I might add that my metier on 5 string is clawhammer. I appreciate bluegrass banjo but am not drawn to it. What I've wound up doing is another story entirely. I should make a thread of it. I have a more inclusive CV on FiddleHangout, and I have it set to public view,,,
