I started playing in 1984 after seeing Deliverance for the first time. I thought, "Hell, if that kid can do it, so can I!" Well, six months after starting I saw Deliverance again and realized he wasn't playing it afterall. Too late. I was hooked. I was in a pretty bad marriage throughout the 90s and never really picked up my banjo. After my divorce in '01 I dusted it off and have been playing off and on until recently when I decided that I wanted to be more than an on-and-off player. Not that I have any aspirations of grandeur, 'cuz I know my shortcomings, but I would eventually like to be able to play with others. Maybe one day I'll have the stones to actually act on it. Right now I'm happy with my new wife and new baby boy, Andy, born in April '06. And that's my banjo bio.
