We live in Rhode Island - near Newport - and my 7 YO grandson keeps reminding us that he wants to learn to play the banjo. We are planning to attend the bluegrass festival at Strawberry Fields this Saturday to expose him - and us- to more of the music but would like to make other connections to help him pursue this interst.
A search of this website for inperson teachers didnt' show any resources.
His 9 YO brother is learning the violin at school but his interest seems to be waning so thought his interest might be reignited by hearing and seeing blue grass.
Any forum members know of low cost instrument and learning resources in RI or southeastern MA?
