My papaw played the banjo on his porch in Harlan, KY when I was growing up. I remember running around catching fireflies to his plucking. When he died, it was passed along to my last remaining relative, who died several years ago, and when she did, I got my papaw's banjo. It's been under a bed or in a closet for some 30+ years and now I'm learning to play. I am happy to have a practice partner who is generously sharing videos and tablature with me, along with keeping me motivated, and her husband is super generous and has helped me tweak my banjo to clean out the dust bunnies and make it fit a little better. :D I'm just starting out, but I'm anxious to learn.
