The first time I picked up an instrument was a violin 26 years ago. I started with classical training but always found myself making up my own riffs. About 13 years ago, I slowed down some Stéphane Grappelli and learned how to swing a beat. I started jamming with friends and eventually played in a band in the Phoenix area. In 2010 we recorded our first album at a studio in Cave Creek AZ. In 2012 I moved back to Denver where I grew up. In September of 2016 for my 17th wedding anniversary, I got my first banjo; an SX banjo which I thought was decent. I started a class in mid-October of 2016. Halfway through my second class, I decided it was time to upgrade, so I purchased a Recording King Elite 85 which is currently the best instrument I own.
