I am the VP Public Service & Outreach at Deering Banjos. As the daughter of Greg and Janet Deering I have grown up working and helping in all aspects of the company... sweeping the shop after school in the early years, to pot staining and assembly, soldering Crossfire wiring and doing the staining and final sanding of resonators in my high school years. I have enjoyed helping at countless festivals and trade shows with my folks and grew up among a diverse banjo and music community as a result. Today I am honored to help bring the banjo as an instrument to new audiences and broaden where it is enjoyed in the world. Though I loved my time helping to build our banjos, and still do sometimes when needed, I now oversee areas such as Artist Relations, workshops, social media, charitable partnerships and more. Currently I am happy to be learning to play Clawhammer banjo.
