I had been looking for a decent banjo I could afford, yesterday a friend told me about an Epiphone MB 500 listed in the Gibson section at bottom of page for $500.00 in IL. I contacted Amerson, James Jaron, he said he would pay for shipping if I sent money via western union, to Christal Wade River Dale Maryland 20787. He told me it was 100% legit. I took a chance against my better judgement and sent the money. He said he was packaging it and would notify me as soon as it shipped. Another friend of mine was aware of me doing this, and contacted the seller on banjo buyer this morning about purchasing, Amerson told him $500.00 cash sent western union and he would ship ups, and that was the only banjo he had listed. My friend called me and told me about this. I checked my email this morning and Amerson told me there was a problem, the shipping co. Needed $300.00 for insurance before they would ship the banjo. I explained that he said he would take care of shipping cost, and I did not have anymore money. I told him to give me a refund and I haven't heard anything out of him since. I know I shouldn't have done this, but I want you guys to be aware of this guy, and hopefully he doesn't steal from anyone else. There was an option to report a scam on the banjo buyer site yesterday, but I cannot find it anywhere today. I truly hope this guy gets caught, I know he is probably using fake names , and never will, but maybe this ad can get closed if the right person reads this blog.
