I've had this lil Gibson for over 50 years...it is a 1900 to 1910 tenor banjo...original case...never used (by me)except for the previous owner.
My dad and I bought it on a local radio show called Swap Shop on WNBZ....in Saranac Lake NY in 1963 ...I was 10 and he got the guitar which I wanted and the banjo sat in his darkroom til I left home and snagged it on my travels across the USA..we were working a Holiday inn in Kalamazoo and the Gibson factory and showroom were still there in 1974. I talked to one of the reps and he said that the banjo was in perfect condition ...original drum skin ....he said to keep the strings loose ...which I did and that it was made about 1900 to 1910... I wish I had gotten a written authoritative letter but I was very young..I have many pix of
