Hi all. I just joined Banjo Hangout and don't know anyone. I have played on and & off for about 25 years now. I put it down about 5 years ago but just started playing again about 5 months ago. I am having a very difficult time playing with my right hand especially my forward rolls 5-3-1 strings. My index finger wants to fly out, my picks tend to drift far away from the strings and there's a great deal of movement in the right hand. I place both ring & little finger down and it's very hard to use my index finger o the 3rd string when doing my 2-3 (dood-lee-doo lick). index finger and thumb seem to clash and I have tried to correct this. Seems like the very basic right hand licks are difficult now. I know it's not rocket science but........Any ideas on how to practice smartly to improve this? I try playing certain songs over and over again but not getting any better. Anyone have any practice techniques? If I'm going to use repetition to improve, I have no practice drills. Any and all comments are welcome. Thanks well in advance
