Picked up a new Deering Goodtime Banjo from The Twelfth Fret via the eBay. Why buy an American banjo from a shop in Canada only to have it shipped back to the USA? Well, because I wanted to make up for all my Canada bashing mostly, but really because they had great communication while I was shopping around. It came with the 7 year Goodtime banjo warranty and a full setup including nut height adjustment, head tension set at G#, capo tacks installed at 7, 9 and 10th fret, and action adjusted for learning clawhammer.
The banjo has been living with us for two days now and I couldn't be happier. I still am at the very beginning stages of learning and as tempting as it is to try to skip ahead or rush it, I am determined to do it right.
I look forward to learning and making music with my new friend.
