I have an old banjo manufactured by the PACE MUSIC Company in Providence, RI. It is named the Philharmonic Grand. It's in perfect condition and probably dates back to the 1920's. I need to find out when it was built and what approximate value it may have. It was my great grandfathers and was kept in its case for many years. It has a stainless steel closed back with a medium side neck and it's 4 string.
Wonder if anyone can give me information on it. I've tried to search for it on web but the company doesn't exist anymore and the name seems to be untraceable. Brought it to a music store and the guy just said "holy crap" where did you get this? He never saw one that old and in such good condition.
