My mom, who left this life on April 6th of 2015, had these last words for me.
"Get a motor home, and a banjo!"
Three weeks after she passed on, while I was at the Original Michigan Fiddlers get together being held up in Morley, MI, I see Paul Bennett walk in.
He takes a look at me and heads back out the door. Ten minutes later he's back with an old open back banjo. Never having met my mom, he says, "here, take this home and learn it!" So I did.
After a week of negotiating a poor quality, but great sounding instrument I figured I'd get a lot farther faster with a pro grade banjo.
So I got a Bart Reiter.
I'm figuring I'm going to get a lot better at this instrument, and so thought I'd record my present state of accomplishment from the end of April to here at
July 13th, almost three months since I started this banjo journey.

As a fiddle player, I'm beginning to understand the "banjo mind", and will henceforth be kinder to my banjo playing friends.
Three weeks after all of this banjo business started, a vintage mint motor home came into our lives.
Go figure...
