When I was a young boy in Indiana, I took lessons from a great and well known player/instructor who played both Vega and Paramount tenors. They were show quality, in fact the most beautiful bejeweled ones I have ever seen! He sold me a good Vega model with sunburst resonator but I never became a great student. A local music store ruined it one day in 1974 when I took it to them for a neck adjustment. They scratched the neck and then kept it and stripped it unbeknownst to me. When I went to get it they informed me of all this and I was so young I didn't even know to contact an attorney.
It still saddens me today but I have always been a fan of the old vintage tenors and would like to find one and begin playing again. Unfortunately, the economy has hurt me and my company so that it will be difficult to pay premium prices. Can anyone point me in the right direction? A local Bluegrass music store referred me to this site.
