New hobby when I retired. Been playing and learning 1 year today 7/16/2015 My second year of playing and I still enjoy playing the banjo. I began learning three finger style. I have worked on accuracy and some on speed. Then I watched an Abigail Washburn YouTube video and thought I would give Clawhammer style a try. I try to learn something new everyday and practice what I know. Very relaxing. 7/25/2016 year 2, working hard on ear / hand coordination. listening to as many banjo players and their rolls and picking styles. Still pickin' and grinnin' the one draw back is I only like bare finger picking I know this is from 45 yrs of playing guitar. I like the feel of the strings. I have been on a search for finger picks that give a sensitive feel. Every week I spend more time using finger picks trying to feel comfortable using them. I like the sound, just the lack of sensitivity.using them.
