Born in southern CA, lived there until 1967. Forest watershed management BS from Utah State 1971. Lived & worked for the U.S. Forest Service in 9 states from 1971 to 2010, then retired in Lakewood, CO. Taught claw-hammer banjo by step-dad when in my teens. Played with Fiddlin' Foresters, official USFS old-time string band, 1994 to 2012. Love to jam with other musicians and learn from them.
