Started playing tenor banjo in High School until I bought a Stanley Bros. album for $1.25 and knew I was wasting my time on the 4 string., had a ten year dry spell, got pumped up again when I dropped into the Bluegrass Pickin Parlor in Tampa, Fla. I've done minor professional work on albums of others, have my own CD, won a bunch of contest ribbons, performed on stage a little from Fla. to New Hamp. but I'd much rather jam. The stage just doesn't do much for me. Spent 10 years in residential construction. Been burning firewood for heat going on 40 years and keep my cell phone in a drawer turned off 98% of the time. I still have one rotary dial telephone plugged in. I'm an art and antiques dealer specializing in 18th and 19th century high style items. I do my own restoration work, occasionally sell a stringed instrument, like to tinker and fix anything I take a fancy to. That picture of me was taken on the tiny Island of Tahuata in the Marquesas group. I was spreading the gospel of the banjo to French Polynesia. They like it, and why not!
