started trying to play in about 1965 and still trying. earliest influence was my dad who played the banjo at home, as a result there was always a banjo in the house. in the late 50's FLATT and SCRUGGS played every thursday night on WSAZ TV, as a result i watched them wether i wanted to or not, because that was our only tv station. thankfully the way bluegrass should sound was etched in my brain. played in several bands over the years, but realized early on it was a good way to starve.
