I started playing banjo in 1979. I took lessons from well-known Atlantic Canadian banjo guru Russell Sawler. As a charter member of the bluegrass group One Mile Hill, I competed in the 2004 CBC Galaxie Rising Stars Contest at the Nesbitt-Burns Jazz and Blues Festival (placing 2nd),and was nominated for a 2005 East Coast Music Award for Best Bluegrass Recording.
