I have been playing banjo since 2002, when my wife bought me my first banjo - an Alvarez. I learned to play using Janet Davis' book/video "You Can Teach Yourself Banjo". I then started playing the banjo with our bluegrass-gospel group "Living Proof". Our group has been together since 2001, and I play guitar, banjo, dobro and mandolin. I now have a Crafters of Tennessee gold walnut banjo which I bought in 2005. I go to some festivals and jams here in Texas often just to play banjo with others. Thanks to everyone for their advice, as I have learned much about the banjo from this forum.
